Earlier this year, it was revealed that the actress had landed a stint on the ITV soapbut full details of her role can be confirmed for the first time today July 1. Amy, who is the sister of Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, has been cast in the part of Tracy Shankley - a chaotic character who divides opinion when she makes her first appearance in the village next week. Tracy arrives in Emmerdale to catch up with Sam James Hooton after they came into contact via an adult chat line. He offers her a place to stay, but Lisa quickly becomes suspicious over the newcomer's motives and kicks her out. Sam's boss Declan Macey soon takes pity on him by agreeing that he and Tracy can stay at Brook Cottage for a while, but with Robbie Lawson still squatting at the property, they find themselves with an unexpected housemate.

But when she inherits Peace Offering, a hopeless racehorse, she embarks on a career change in order to see her late uncle's wish to run him in the Grand National come true. The most challenging of them all is her relationship with her new boss. Jack, although easy on the eye, is moody and fiery-tempered and certainly not easy on the ear.
After a Christmas they would both rather forget, danger and deception threaten Pippa's life in the country and she discovers Peace Offering is not the only thing she must fight to keep.

However, there were a couple of steamy sex scenes and a lot more F-words than this sort of book needed. But then I suppose some young girls do swear as much as Pippa does in this story. So I give it 3 stars for teens, but only 2 if it was meant for adults. Also I think teens would be bored however horse mad by the blow by blow commentaries on the races the horses ran in.
I started to skip these bits and the chit chat between Pippa and her friend on the phone and their nights out. They acted like 17 year olds, although they were 10 years older.

I then skim-read to the very predictable ending. Not a book or author for me, and I am glad it was free when I got it.
I have not read a book for ages that has had me in fits of laughter one minute and then shedding a tear the next. Hannah has the most wonderful way of illustrating her characters and circumstances surrounding their daily lives - story telling at its most magical.
The storyline was great; city girl inheriting a cottage and two racehorses from her uncle which changes her life so completely. It is a romantic but so down to earth saga that gives Bridget Jones a run for her money.
Our Heroine is dippy, a real softy, yet feisty too when her buttons are pushed! I could not put this down and had to keep on reading to find out the next bit of drama. I loved the way this was written the way you are gradually drawn in to all the aspects of the story. Pippa inherits a run down house in the country and also a couple of Race Horses.
She has to make decisions that will ultimately change her life.
Swapping a City Life for that of the country. Keeping her horses is a luxury she really can't afford especially as she has to try to renovate the cottage before putting it on the market. She decides her best course of action is to move into the cottage while she does the renovation herself leaving Ollie her boyfriend Ollie behind in London.
She manages to get a job as a secretary at The Aspen Valley Stables where her horses are although she knows nothing about horse racing. Her relationship with Ollie is far from perfect and the gaps widen as she becomes involved in her new life.
Beautifully written I will definitely be looking for more books by Hannah Hooton. I really enjoyed this book read it at two sittings, Pippa moves from the busy streets of London to the countryside to work to keep a race horse that she has just inherited. I really loved the fact that Pippa found her "artistic" spirit come back when she moved into the countryside.
This is a really nice book, and I enjoyed it in the same way I like a cuppa and a scone. It's characters are likeable, the story has a nice plodding plot line, the events are entertaining enough to keep you interested and it has a satisfactory ending. It is not however exciting or a story of passion and with the setting being in the racing world, it could have lent itself to a bit more drama.
