The bronze deation recognizes the trail system and the overall experience the upper valley has created for mountain biking boosted by the views of the Elk Mountains. The classic trail system - featuring old favorites such as Government Trail and Sunnyside Trail - has been buttressed by the addition of a new generation of "flow" trails, such as the Deadline, Airline and Valhalla Trails, all located in Snowmass Village. The Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association pursued this deation on behalf of the upper Roaring Fork Valley and noted that the successful marketing of this area as a mountain-biking destination also earned points in the IMBA's deation process.

The regional museum conference draws museum professionals from a state region in the heartland of America, including Colorado, to learn about everything from coordinating volunteers to creating podcasts. Conference attendees include folks from art, history, science, tribal and local museums as well as zoos and botanical gardens with paid and volunteer staffs.
